TSC Directors


MIKE
and SALLY HORNER are the owners and operators of Tom Sawyer Camps. They bought the camp in 1973 and are entering their 38th year of ownership. Mike is the company President and directs the financial aspects of the business. Prior to Sally's retirement in 2005, she was the Vice President and helped with with the operations of running the camp. She was very active with the American Camp Association both locally and nationally, having served on the National Standards Board for eight years, and as president for the Southern California Section for two terms. She also sat on the American Camp Association Foundation Board and on the Association of Independent Camps as Day Camp Representative.
SARAH HORNER FISH, Executive Director: Sarah is responsible for all of our camp programs and over sees the staff, training, and operations of all of camp. Sarah has been a camper, junior counselor, Pre-Camp Counselor, Summer Day Camp counselor, and Assistant Day Camp Director during her 35 plus years at TSC! Sarah works year round at camp doing many different jobs, including the hiring, enrolling and training of our staff. Sarah is also very active with the American Camp Association and has recently just completed a term on the National Board for ACA and is currently the President of WAIC (The Western Association of Independent Camps).
MARAH LYVERS-HILL, SDC Director: Marah has been a TSC staff member for many years. Summer 1998 she worked at Catalina Island Camps as Program Director, returning to TSC in the summer of 1999 to direct our Aquatics Program. Summer 2000 she started as Director of TSCTOO!. She is now the director of Summer Day Camp. During the school year, Marah is the Director of our After School Camp Programs . She also heads up our ropes course program and the desert trip. Marah is active at both the Local and National level of the American Camp Association, volunteering her time with planning, training and helping other camps to grow their programs.
KATHY GARCIA, Outpost Director: Kathy has been at TSC for over 20 years and 15 plus of them as a Director. A graduate of the University of La Verne with a degree in Liberal Studies, Kathy has worked in our Day Camp Program as a counselor, Assistant Director (Director of Fun!) and Aquatics Director. Since 2005, Kathy has been at the helm our middle school program, Outpost. Kathy works year round as our After School Program Assistant Director.
Eric Ikari, TSCTOO! Director: Eric is a familiar face to many campers at TSC because of all his years and jobs (and ability to sing the Moose song) at camp! Eric has spent over 10 years working at TSC and is now the Director at Too! He has spent 5 summers at TSC Too as a Senior Counselor and four summers at SDC as one of our Assistant Directors. Eric has worked 8 plus years at our After School Programs and is currently the Site Director of our Aveson After School Camp Site. Eric is the master of holiday camp and spring camp, visiting all the local attractions every season with our campers that participate (you need suggestions of what to see, just ask). Eric is also our go to guy when we need anything fixed ... he is truly a master of all trades and we are lucky to have him at TSC! .
LAURA BRADLEY (L.B.), Activities Director: After working with the horses for many summers, L. B. switched to the office to supervise various activities like the BBQs, Open Houses, Overnights, watermelons and Popsicles, etc. L.B. is an expert on so many different components of TSC that she is the one we really go to for all of the answers!
KATIE ENNEY, Program Director: After working full time for many years at TSC (plus 22 years as a camper, Junior Counselor, Assistant Counselor, Senior Counselor and Assistant Director at Pre Camp), Katie now works part time for camp helping with enrollment, transportation and more (she knows every street in the San Gabriel Valley)! Katie is the Assistant Director of BLAST (active link) and is working on her PsyD at a local university.
WALT MYERS, Director of Transportation: Walt keeps our fleet of over 50 vehicles running in tip-top condition. As you can imagine, this is a full time job! If it breaks he gets to fix it! He also serves as our in-house computer expert and webmaster. If you have any problems, questions or suggestions about the website send him an email.
