Tom Sawyer Camps
Established in 1926 by Bill and Al Schleicher in Laguna Beach,
TOM SAWYER CAMPS is one of the pioneers in youth camping in Southern
California. Over the years the camp has maintained the strong
commitment that every child should experience carefree, constructive
activities in the out-of-doors like Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher.
Positive reinforcement from caring adults, the thrill of horseback
riding, the sharing of secret and daring adventures with a group of
friends, and the chance to go out and get dirty are some of the reasons
that thousands of children, including many third generation campers,
reflect upon their Tom Sawyer or Becky Thatcher experience with fond
and happy memories.
Since 1944 the camp has been located in the Arroyo Seco
(Devil's Gate Dam and Hahamongna Watershed Park) area as a ten week summer day
camp. In 1997 TSC expanded expanded its boundaries to the Eastern San Gabriel Valley
by opening TSCTOO! in Arcadia. Parents and children
interested in learning more about the camp are welcome to meet the Camp Directors and watch
the camp video at our office.
