Summer 2023 Staff Applications Open Now!

We have two paid levels of Counselor at TSC: Senior Counselor and Assistant Counselor

  • Senior Counselors must be in first year of college (or equivalent) or older at the time of application submission. Our Senior Counselors are given more responsibility in their position and are typically responsible for mentoring and supervising younger staff members. Senior Counselors are supervised by one or more TSC Directors. See Senior Counselor section for more details.

  • Assistant Counselors must currently be in either 11th or 12th grade. Our Assistant Counselors are given their own set of responsibilities and are supervised by their designated Senior Counselor as well as one or more TSC Directors. See Assistant Counselor section for more details.

Both Assistant and Senior Counselor positions are available in all of our three Camps: Pre-Camp, Day Camp, and Outpost as well as at our Specialist Positions: Horses, Pool, Archery, Activities, and our Outpost special programs Rock Climbing, Lake, and High Ropes.

  • PRE-CAMP: For campers ages 3-5 (Preschool/TK). Campers are in coed groups of 12-13 and are grouped by age.

Summer 2023 Staff Applications OPEN!!!

All Counselors are required to attend mandatory training dates: June 3 through June 10. Camp dates are June 12 through August 11. Counselors must commit to working Monday-Friday for their assigned dates and attend Staff Meetings held every other Wednesday evening.

Step 1: Thoroughly read the information guide for the position which you are applying and make sure you can fulfill the requirements.

Step 2: Use the link below to fill out an online application. Make sure you designate whether you are applying as an Assistant Counselor or a Senior Counselor.

Step 3: Attend one of our group interviews, which are usually held on Fridays or Saturdays. Following the group interview, applicants may be invited for individual interviews based upon their performance in the group interview. We offer jobs throughout this process, so committing to an earlier interview is advantageous as more positions are available at that time. If you are not able to make one of the group interviews, or would like to request a virtual interview, please let us know on your application.

When we were looking at her camp group photo, I asked my daughter who her friends were. She said: "All of them!"

TSC Family

Felicity woke up each day looking forward to camp! She still sings the songs, talks about the horses, and mentions what she learned on a daily basis. It was a wonderful experience and we are so thankful to have had this opportunity.

TSC Parent

My campers often look at the TSC photo and still name their friends. Thank you and the TSC family for creating such a gift for families.

TSC Parent

Our Campers want to be Counselors someday, because of the examples that your Counselors set for them. Tom Sawyer is encouraging them to be leaders.

TSC Family

Camp has given our child confidence to try many new things like archery, horses, swimming, climbing, high ropes, and taking the initiative to make new friends.

TSC Family

I was impressed by the high level of communication between the camp leadership and parents. If something came up at camp, they helped my child grow skills to handle things and always updated me about it.

TSC Family

My daughter had the absolute best time! She learned new skills, made friends, and came home, every day, covered in mud! It was exactly what summer should be.

TSC Parent

Our son Oliver adores TSC. Loves the counselors, all the activities, and the fellow campers.  TSC has become a summer family tradition.  He hopes to one day be a counselor!

TSC Parent

Our daughter stepped outside her comfort zone on the rock wall and high ropes and is so proud of herself! The well-trained staff made it a great and safe experience for her.

TSC Parent

My son had a wonderful time. All his needs were met including his fear of swimming. The counselors were fantastic with him.
